| Another view of
the bits ready for silver solder. It looks like the raised bosses
for the bolts that hold it to the mount "casting".
The horizontal cylinder with the slot and the hollow cylinder
on the left are both made of 932 bronze, as they are both bearing
surfaces. The rest of this part is made of free machining brass.
Free machining brass is a poor material for bearings, and as
this model was built for hard service bearing bronze was used
for all the bearing surfaces in the throttle linkage. |
